PROMISSING FUTURE
Racing at the 2014 ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship in Tavira, Portugal came down to a thrilling conclusion as the athletes of Famagusta Nautical Club, Onisiforos Neophytou and Nicolas Protopapas representing Cyprus in the Catamarans category SL16 were fighting for a position within the top 8. After a dramatic last race, our crew prove that they have a promising future, since they manage a better position than last year’s 9th place, and finished at 7th position.
Managing to finish in top three, in couple of races was a great success and great experience. Having another 2-3 tries for the ISAF Youth Sailing World Championships in the next few years, Onisiforos & Nicolas are closing to another big success for Cyprus sailing, similar to the first steps of Pavlos Kontides and his championship.
We expect that the KOA and the leaders of Sailing in Cyprus will invest on this success.
