Implementing the announcements of last year’s IOANNIDEIA 2023 closing ceremony, Famagusta Nautical Club in partnership with Ayia Napa Marina launch Part A of ORC Open Championship, on May 17th to 19th of 2024.
ORC Racing, in Cyprus, is about to change drastically. Famagusta Nautical Club, Limassol Marina and Ayia Napa Marina are joining their efforts to organize a high-level Open ORC Championship. The new Championship will be consisted of two parts of racing. Part A, with 3 short technical races and one offshore race will take place in Ayia Napa Marina between May 17th and May 19th of 2024 and Part B, of the same racing format, will be the existing IOANNIDEIA regatta, ORC Challenge Trophy Mare Nostrum, at Limassol Marina between September 6th and September 8th 2024.
The two Parts of ORC Open Championship will run independently with prize awards in every part, but also jointly for the new Championship. In case, the Cyprus Sailing Federation appoints the two Parts to be the National Championship regattas then the ORC Open Championship will also count as the National Championship, as well. Participants will have the opportunity to identify in which of the above-mentioned events would like to participate, during their online registration. All details will be sent out to all prospect participants within the next few days, regarding the procedures and registration.
