Third day of Ioannideia 2016 2nd International Optimist Regatta, and everything is better than expected. Racing wise, and with the wind building since early morning up to 18 knots, another 3 races of great sailing were completed, reaching the total of 9 with 3 more to go.
Orestis Apostolides in the Open Boys Category, and Anna Neophytou in the Open Girls Category are keeping there lead after the first 9 races, although Anna pass through Orestis for the first time for the overall lead. Juliusz Hebel had the best day in the Open Boys category jumping to second position. The lead for the Cadet Category is still held by Emilios Max Boeros while Shemesh Maayan extended her lead even more. In the Novice category Artem Dalkarov and Danae Fella kept their first positions.
Tomorrow 3 races to complete the Regatta followed by the awards ceremony.
As far as the Beach party went. No words can describe it. Athletes, coaches, parents, judges, officials and volunteers, they all became one, enjoying a night at the beach with plenty of food drinks and dancing.
