IOANNIDEIA 2016 – ORC CHALLENGE Trophy 
Only few days prior to the New Year, and finally ORC (Offshore Racing Congress) and Famagusta Nautical Club made sailing history. After a lot of hard work The Dream Came True. Working on organizing an Official ORC Event in Cyprus and at the same time trying to combine this with the IOANNIDEIA International Offshore Regatta, the most successful Offshore Event in the Region, we finally concluded on December 29th 2015 with the Official Announcement of ORC.

Finally, and after the written proposal by the Famagusta Nautical Club at the ORC General Assembly in China on November 8th 2015, a common ground was found and both parties started working towards the implementation ( http://www.orc.org/minutes/OCEC%202015.pdf ).
The ORC CHALLENGE TROPHY is being borned starting in 2016 IOANNIDEIA International Offshore Regatta. A series of three races, two inshore and one coastal where the overall winner of yachts competing with a valid ORC International or ORC Club certificate will be awareded the priceless ORC perpetual Challenge Trophy.
After finalizing all details and having on Board, for a second year, the Main Sponsor of the Event, MBS (Moscow Building Service), along side of our Partner, Limassol Marina, and Communication Sponsor RIK (Cyprus Radio Broadcasting), we are please to announce IOANNIDEIA 2016 which will take place between the 1st and the 11th of September 2016 with the International Offshore Regatta / ORC Challenge Trophy taking place between September 8th and 11th 2016.
