IOANNIDEIA 2018 Optimist Mediterranean Championship
Race Day 1

At last, almost 150 sailors from 24 countries got the Optimist Mediterranenan Championship under way with the first three Races of the qualifying series, in medium wind conditions of 10 to 12 knots.  With almost no organizing problems and with a lot of anxiety, the Mediterranean Optimist Championship set the stage for what is going to be the biggest sailing event ever organized in the region.  The 1st out of five International Sailing Events and the last pre-event prior to the 2018 Optimist World Championship is now underway.

Two fleets in the Open and Cadet Categories and an additional fleet of Novices, competition got under way and the first qualifing races were completed successfully.
